Target Students

Taiwan high school students with interest in overseas college study

Format

1 on 1, small group

two hours/week

Objects

- joy in writing

- awareness as a young writer

- one's own unique voice

- independence in college application and study

- how to give and receive criticism

Principle

- spend more time on actual writing than talking about writing theory

- listen to other writers' voice and write in one's own voice

- gradually turn free narrative writing into structural analytic writing

Class Session

A) Warm-up for writing

- listen to tracks of audiobooks

- turn voice into words

- turn words into sentences

- mutual criticism

B) Writing in three levels

- personal perception

- personal insight

- public issue

- mutual criticism

C) Purposeful writing

- writing for college admission

- writing essay or statistical analysis

- mutual criticism
